Social Scoring? A New Trend?

Recently a new trend called Social Scoring has become a popular and somewhat controversial topic. So what exactly is Social Scoring? Here is the best definition I could find, "The act of rating a person's level of influence based on evaluating one's followers, friends, and postings on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook." I have started this blog to follow the trends and future of Social Scoring. Who knows where this will take us.
